Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Welcome to ssum.uk (the “Website”). We respect your privacy and believe in strict data minimisation. This policy explains how our application handles data, the limited information we process for local statistics, and the cookies we use.
Part 1 — Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
ssum.uk is the data controller responsible for your personal data. If you have any questions about this policy, please contact us using the details in Section 6.
2. The data we collect and why
We do not collect names, emails, or marketing data from public visitors. To maintain server health and understand traffic, our server processes visitor IP addresses.
- Purpose: IP addresses are used only within our server to produce basic aggregate statistics (such as unique vs. returning visitors) and to monitor for malicious traffic.
- Our stack: The site runs on Nuxt (Node.js) behind an Apache reverse proxy. Processing happens entirely within this local stack.
- Local storage: All log processing is performed locally on our host.
- No third parties: We do not use third-party analytics (such as Google Analytics). Your IP data is never shared, sold, or sent to external entities.
- Legal basis: Legitimate Interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) — keeping the site secure, functional and optimised.
3. Administrator data
We process credentials (username and password) only for authorised administrators logging into the backend. There is no public user registration.
4. Data retention and sharing
Server access logs are automatically rotated and deleted after a short period needed for technical diagnostics. We do not transfer data outside the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area (EEA).
5. Your legal rights
Under the UK GDPR you have rights regarding your data, including the right to request access or deletion. Because our logs do not link IP addresses to real-world identities, we cannot identify individual visitors from our data alone.

Part 2 — Cookie Policy
1. No tracking or marketing cookies
We do not use tracking pixels, advertising cookies, or third-party tracking scripts, and we do not monitor your browsing across other websites.
2. Cookies we use
We use a small number of first-party cookies. The strictly necessary ones are required for the site to work and do not need consent under UK law. Optional cookies stay off until you choose to allow them.

You can change your choices at any time using the cookie button on the site, or set your browser to refuse some or all cookies. If you block the strictly necessary cookies, secure administrative parts of the site may not function.
